Donation Update

Thank You!

In lieu of placing an order, several subscribers to my stamps notebook have chosen to make a donation. Using these funds, I was able to purchase over $1500 in Close To My Heart products for a organizations serving my community.

For Cardmaking Supplies for Seniors

The first project was to provide card-making supplies to the Hylton Point II Apartments. I have enjoyed getting to know the lovely ladies at this senior housing complex by teaching card-making classes. Hylton Point social worker, Savanah Litali tells me that the card-making classes are a great way for the residents to practice fine motor skills. I just know that we have a lot of fun together!

With your donations, I was able to provide a complete set of adhesives, scissors, Cut Above card kits as well as a medium organizer to store it all in. Your donations are saving their budgeted activity money for other things!

Update Nov 2016: For November & December workshops, blank card bases and envelopes, fundamental paper, shimmer trim and sparkles were purchased with donated money for Christmas and Kwanzaa card workshops.

Updated April 2017: Your donations have continued to provide materials for card workshops at Hylton Place 2. Last month, we expanded to have a second card workshop at their sister location, Hylton Place 1.

For My Crush Supplies for High Schoolers

The second project was to provide My Crush books and accessories to a local high school. The counselor at the school will use these supplies when working with troubled teens during the 2015-2016 school year. With the funds you donated, I was able to pick out a variety of books, assortment packs and washi tape for the students to use.

Make a Wish Albums

My beautiful friend Kathy generously gives of her time, energy and scrapbooking supplies to make albums for children who have traveled with the Make a Wish organization. She has made a number of books and I love seeing them come together. When possible, she meets with the families to present the books. She loves to talk about her kids and stays in touch as much as possible.

When the Magical paper collection came out I knew it would be perfect for Kathy’s projects since her books often include trips to Disney World. Through your donations, I gave her a budget to select products including albums, paper and embellishments. Thank you for allowing me to be part of her beautiful projects!

Do you know of a charity organization that could use some supplies from our Idea Books? Paper, stamps, ink, card bases, or tools? (It does not have to be an official Not For Profit, but these product must be used in a way to benefit others with no gain.) Please send me an email with contact information. Thanks!
