Basics: Tools and Adhesives

Below is a summary of the Basic Paper-crafting and Stamping Tools. I've also made a list of Suggested Adhesives. You can purchase all of these on my Close To My Heart website.

Basic Paper-Crafting Tools

The following tools are generally needed for the workshops on this website.

Basic Stamping Supplies

For stamping projects, you are likely to need the following products in addition to your stamps and ink pads.

Suggested Adhesives

Below is a summary of my favorite adhesives and when I use them.

  • Tape runner for attaching paper to paper. My favorite is 3L EZ Dots and Refills.
  • Glue Dots to attach small embellishments and ribbon.
  • 3D Foam tape --- regular or thin -- to add dimension under elements. Want to pop up a sticker? Dust the back with baby powder to remove the stickiness then add foam tape.
  • Bonding Memories Glue - Amazing product for when you need entire surfaces bonded. For example to attach paper to chipboard albums.
  • Bonding Memories Glue Pen - the chisel tip makes it easy to get the glue exactly where you want it on small items like detailed die-cuts.
  • Liquid Glass - permanent adhesive for hard surfaces and 3D objects. (Can also use to make shiny embellishments.)

Speaking of adhesives, I always cover my desk with my All-Purpose Mat before applying adhesive. Wipes clean with just a damp paper towel.  In addition, I always keep my Rub & Remove Eraser handy to remove any excess adhesive from my project.
