Cricut Workshops

I love teaching Cricut to beginners and more advance users. In designing the projects, I always include a few techniques to stretch what you are able to make with your Cricut. Each workshop includes a variety of projects that I hope you will enjoy.

New Dual Track Classes

When I design projects for these classes my first goal is to help you get comfortable with creating using your Cricut machine. I try to create a variety of projects that you will enjoy creating and using once they are done. I also want to give you the opportunity to learn how to do intermediate and advanced techniques in Design Space. However, in order to make these workshops appropriate for both beginner and advanced Design Space users, going forward attendees will also receive links to completed Design Space files. Essentially, this creates a beginner and advanced track for completing the projects. Under the beginner track, you can go straight to the Design Space file and start cutting your project. Everyone will get complete directions plus the links, so you get to choose which track is best for you!

New Virtual Workshop Format

Creating a virtual event has both limitations but also some advantages over a live event. The most obvious benefit of a virtual class is that you will not need to pack up your machine, laptop, other tools and supplies to travel to where ever I am. You will have the convenience of working in your normal space without the inconvenience of packing and unpacking. You will also have the luxury of working at your own pace. Although this is true at the live events to some extent, as an instructor it was sometimes difficult to lead projects with a class that has a range of experience and skills. With a virtual classroom, we’ll be able to share community without the pressure to keep up with the person across the table or feeling guilt for working ahead. Under the new format, the workshop includes physical materials, printable guides and virtual classroom.

Workshop Kit – The kit will include papers, embellishments and other materials needed to complete the projects. These will be available for pick up or mailed about a week prior to the workshop.

Workshop Guide – The printable workshop guide will include step-by-step directions for each project. For each you will be guided through the design, cutting and assembly process. The format will look very familiar if you have attended one of my Cricut classes before. Along with the guide, you will also receive links to completed projects in Design Space. If you are new to Design Space, you can use these links and focus on basic skills rather than the advanced techniques used to design the projects.

Virtual “Live” Workshop – Each workshop will have a schedule date and time for a virtual workshop. The session will begin with a walk through the steps of each project. I’ll point out any challenges that you may have along the way and give you tips to avoid them. Once I have finished this portion, the classroom will remain open while you and others in the workshop work at your own pace. Together, we’ll discuss any questions or issues that come up along the way. For this first workshop, my intent is to use Zoom but I’m exploring other options for future classes.
